Management Committee Vacancies

We would like to confirm that David Deathe will be stepping down from the Management Committee of Stoke Ferry Community Enterprise Ltd after providing invaluable support and guidance since the project began in 2021.  David has been with us every step of the way, and we have greatly valued his insight and expertise gained from running his own pub. 

 

In addition to David, our treasurer Mark Pemberton will also be stepping down from his post at the end of March, and from the Management Committee.  Mark has worked tirelessly to manage the finances of our pub, including day to day accounting activity, which has required a real commitment of time. 

 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their hard work and support on the Management Committee, they will be very much missed.  We are however grateful that Mark will continue to be our Quiz Master and David will continue to be involved in the cellar management at the Blue Bell. 

 

We are therefore inviting all Members (Shareholders) to put themselves forward for election to fill these two vacancies on the Management Team.  We particularly need knowledge and experience of accounting and business finance to support the replacement of the Treasurer role.  It is important to understand that being a member of the Management Committee does involve a commitment of time, with meetings held once a fortnight and areas of responsibility allocated.  In addition, the treasurer’s role will involve weekly tasks including invoice payments etc which could total half to one day a week.  If you would like to speak to a current member to understand more of what it involves, please let us know.

 

Anyone who would like to stand for election must send notice by midnight on Sunday, 22nd February 2026 to bluebellshareholders@gmail.com.   As well as your name and address, please also send an election statement of no more than 200 words that can be circulated to Members to inform their vote.  If more than two candidates put themselves forward, an election will be held online. If this is the case, we will write to Members with full details of how to vote no later than Tuesday 24th February 2026.
