Share offer a success
We have raised £180,000 from the community to buy, renovate and reopen The Blue Bell. This will be added to grants and loans from the Plunkett Foundation, More Than a Pub scheme and the Key Fund.
We have a detailed Business Plan which has been given the seal of approval by The Plunkett Foundation. It shows without a doubt that, with the support of the community, we can run a successful pub in Stoke Ferry. Before investing, you will also need to read the share prospectus.
Villagers told us what they wanted at two open meetings and via a survey and we have built our plans on that.
Our online events as well as our August Bank Holiday and Halloween successes have given you a taste of different community events The Blue Bell will offer.
The Blue Bell will become the real heart of the village, a warm and friendly living room bringing people together.
You will be investing in Stoke Ferry Community Enterprise Limited (the Society), a Community Benefit Society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority. Our share offer has been awarded the Community Shares Standard Mark too.
Shareholders have voting rights as a member of the Society at Annual General Meetings.
Shares can still be bought and all the information you should need is below. The costs of renovation have increased because of the general rise in cost of building materials so investing now will be a great help to the project.

Community Shares Standard Mark
The Community Shares Standard Mark is awarded by the Community Shares Unit to offers that meet national standards of good practice.
These standards ensure that:
• The offer document and application form are easy to understand
• You are provided with all the facts you need to make an informed decision
• The facts are supported by the annual accounts and/or business plan for the society
• Nothing in the documents is purposefully incorrect, confusing or misleading
Societies are asked to sign a Code of Practice requiring them, among other things, to give the public a right of complaint to the Community Shares Unit.
